Make a Spark (makeaspark.app) is run by Limeade Labs. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to get it deleted. In short: we keep only what a signup sheet, poll, form or survey needs to work, we don't sell it, and we don't use it for ads.
Two kinds of people use Make a Spark
- Organizers sign in with their email and build sparks by talking to ChatGPT, Claude or another AI app.
- Respondents open a spark's link and answer. They don't need an account.
What we collect
- Organizers: your email address (to sign you in and so respondents can reply to invites), and the sparks you make.
- Respondents: what the spark asks for, which is set by the organizer. Usually a name, sometimes an email address, and your answers. We also keep a private token in your browser so you can change or remove your answer later.
- Email invites: when an organizer emails a spark, we store the addresses they gave us, whether each person answered, and a log of what was sent (used for sending limits; addresses are removed from that log after 30 days).
- Usage data: counts of things like page views and which tools were used, without cookies, names, emails or answers. We use PostHog for this. Cloudflare, which hosts the service, keeps standard request logs for security.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't show ads.
- We don't read your conversations with your AI app. Your AI app sends us only what it needs to make or change a spark.
- We don't call AI models with your data. The AI app you use does the thinking.
Who can see what
- The organizer sees every response to their spark, including emails and written answers, and can download them.
- Other respondents see only what the spark is built to show, such as names on a signup slot or vote counts on a date poll. They never see other people's email addresses or written survey answers.
- Anyone with a spark's link can open it, so organizers should share links only with the people they mean to.
Who processes data for us
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and sending email.
- PostHog: cookieless usage statistics.
- The AI app the organizer connects (for example ChatGPT or Claude) receives the spark details and results it asks for, under that company's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- A spark and its responses are deleted automatically after 12 months with no edits and no new responses.
- Organizers can delete a spark at any time (ask your AI to delete it) or delete their whole account at makeaspark.app/account. Deletion is permanent.
- Respondents can remove their own answer from the spark page in the same browser they answered from ("Remove my response").
Your choices and rights
- Every invite email has an unsubscribe link: stop one organizer, or all Make a Spark email.
- To see, correct or delete information about you, ask the organizer of the spark, or email hello@makeaspark.app with the spark's link. We'll answer within 30 days.
- Make a Spark isn't meant for children under 13, and organizers must not use it to collect information from them directly.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell organizers by email.
